Frequently asked questions
Do I need a course?
No, if you hold an official degree in the field: the LEC requires the degree (art. 340). Experience with reports and in court helps.
How do I get on the court lists?
Through your professional body, which sends the list to the courts every January (art. 341 LEC). Ask your body for the registration deadline.
Can a building surveyor (arquitecto técnico) be an expert witness?
Yes, within their competence: building defects, damp, workmanship faults, measurements and valuations.
Do I need to be on the lists to work with Kredenis?
No. Kredenis cases are commissioned by clients, not by the court: they are party expert reports.
